The power of one

One word
One thought
One action;
Just one –
Can change your life forever.
It doesn’t take so much
To change your course,
And send you headed in another direction;
It begins with one step –
Just one.

Life as we know it is given in days
And moments;
And today is the day of salvation.
This one moment –
Now, is the acceptable time.

Take this moment
And make it count.
Take that step
And make the change for Truth, freedom, purpose and life.
It always only begins with that just one.

The power of one

Truth to live by

God knows our way,

And the path we’re on, now.

He knows the way we’re supposed to take,

And the road we should be on, now.

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death – Proverbs 16:25.

God knows –

And if we’d just ask, He would lead us.

We can trust His leading because He’s God,

And He knows.

God knows –

This is more than just something we’ve been told:

It’s truth to live by;

Rock to build upon.

And we’d be ok,

If we’d just remember that God knows.

Truth to live by

What if I could just be?

What if I could just be? –
And live, knowing impossible is nothing;
There are no limits.

Nothing is impossible;
There is nothing that can’t be done.

What if I could just be? –
Believing.
Hopeful.
And not staggering in this belief and hope.

To him that believes all things are possible;
And faith is the substance of things hoped for,
The evidence of things not seen.

What if I could just be? –
Free.
Unbound.
And at liberty.

Released to be me;
To find myself.
And to just be.

What if I could just be? –
What if? –
And why not?

What if I could just be?

I’m Human

I’m human.
I carry the breath of God,
And I do not live by bread alone.

I can create,
Be fruitful,
And multiply.

I can be.
Live,
And that, abundantly!

I am capable of so much;
Abundance,
And more.

Does it amaze you,
To consider all that’s possible;
All that could be?

The path I walk,
Is the one I choose;
And I am without excuse.
I’m human.
I carry the breath of God,
And I’d be responsible with this gift.

Because the day would finally come,
When a proper account would be required of me.
May I have fully known the true meaning of being human.

I’m Human

Family like I know it

We may not always approve of everything everyone does, but we’re still family.

There are days when it’s hard to agree on anything –

Like, do we want toast or pancakes for breakfast?

Or did the chicken come from the egg, or the egg from the chicken?

But we’re still family.

Some days, we can’t even stand each other –

But we still hold each other down, and you know who has your back when it comes down to really –

Because we’re still family.

Sometimes I wonder about the meaning of family, and what God has in mind about His Church.

What does it mean to be one?

And brethren with the Son of God;

And joint heirs together with Christ?

What does it mean to be family?

The way I know it, we may not always agree with each other,

But we stick with each other,

Support each other,

Encourage each other,

And just plain carry on!

So let those days come when it’s hard to agree on anything.

And those other days when we can’t stand each other.

It’s all still good.

And we’d be ok;

Because we’re still after all, family.

Why we must count the cost and carry our cross

Life does not always happen the way we’ve planned it. (Does it ever?!) It is indeed, as we’ve been told, what happens after we’ve made our plans.

But we do want to make the most of life.

And we do try to find our way.

And it’s more than a few who fall short and never find their way.

So how can we live, with this falling short and endless trying?

And no, it is not ok to no longer want to make the most of life, and to try to find your way.

It’s true, what we’ve been told:

Do not ever give up.

It’s life – your own life you’re fighting for, and to give up is to spite the Giver of the gift (and the gift) you’ve been blessed with.

Do not ever give up.

Rest assured, you are accountable for this gift, and the day would finally come when you would tell what you did with it – all the challenges and difficulties, despite!

So count the cost, and carry your cross.

And do not ever give up.

It is possible to make the most of life, and to find your way.

It is possible to find the Way – and this is the essence of life:

To find the Way, and to walk in this path of Truth.

Would life eventually happen like you’ve planned it? Hardly.

Would you be ok anyway? Possibly.

But we know, as sure as Truth is, that those who count the cost and carry their cross, and who never ever give up would be ok – regardless of how life eventually happens.

The history books bear witness to this testimony.

Why we must count the cost and carry our cross

Obedience

Obedience – to do what you have been told to do, when you were told to do it.

When you were told to do it.

There is a time and a season for every purpose under heaven.

And sometimes to get round to doing what you have been told to do (finally!) is not good enough.

To be obedient only eventually is not good enough, and to be consistently so shows a lack of faith and trust in the one to whom you must be obedient.

Maybe not a complete lack of faith and trust.

Just doubt.

Or a case of faith and trust under fire!

There is a purpose for the times and seasons we live in; a reason for the days we’ve been blessed with.

And we must make these times and seasons and days count.

Do you know the one to whom you must be obedient?

Do you trust and have faith in this one to whom you must be obedient?

Then you must obey, and be immediate in your obedience; you must do what you’ve been told to do, when you were told to do it.

There truly is a time and a season for every purpose under heaven.

And obedience does not serve its purpose when its not immediate.
